About Me –

Gerardo Tellez | Professional Dog Trainer

Hi, I’m the owner and head trainer at Tellez K9 Dog Training. My passion for dog training began in 2019 when I brought home my first German Shepherd, Kipper. From day one, I wanted a dog with reliable obedience, great manners, and the confidence to go anywhere with me. That goal sparked a deeper passion for training and behavior that soon turned into a full-time career.

I dove into learning everything I could—watching countless training videos, studying online courses, and reading books about dog behavior and obedience training. To gain real-world experience, I completed a year-long apprenticeship that gave me hands-on knowledge and helped shape the balanced, results-driven training methods I use today.

Since then, I’ve dedicated my life to helping dogs and their owners build better communication and stronger bonds. Whether it’s fixing leash pulling, aggression cases, reactivity, or recall issues, or developing advanced off-leash obedience, I focus on practical training that gets real-world results.

Outside of client work, I also train, compete, and do helper work in Schutzhund (IGP)—a sport that tests a dog’s skills in tracking, obedience, and protection. This keeps me sharp, experienced, and exposed to dogs of all temperaments and drive levels.

At Tellez K9, my mission is simple: to help you bring out the best in your dog through clear communication, consistency, and proven techniques. Whether you’re struggling with behavior issues or want reliable off-leash control, I’ll guide you every step of the way.
